Multiple PhD Positions in Multiphase Flow and Transport in Porous Media at the University of Wyoming

The Center of Innovation for Flow through Porous Media (COIFPM) at the University of Wyoming invites highly motivated individuals to apply for several PhD positions in multiphase flow and transport in porous media. The research topics are diverse and include both experimental and numerical modeling aspects with energy and environmental applications. We are particularly interested in applicants with the following academic backgrounds:

– Chemical/Mechanical/Petroleum Engineering or closely related engineering disciplines

– Computational/Applied Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry

– Computer Science

– Geology and Geophysics

COIFPM (https://coifpm.com) is one of the largest and most advanced experimental research facilities in the world focused on flow through porous media problems with applications primarily in oil and gas recovery and carbon utilization and storage. It is developed using more than $100 million investment. The facility provides imaging and flow capabilities at atomic, nano, micro, and macro scales. Furthermore, it establishes a massive capacity for researchers to conduct numerous studies in parallel. State-of-the-art High-Performance Computing resources are available for computational and data processing projects. The Center is home for a large and dynamic group of PhD students and post-doctoral research associates who collaborate on advancing knowledge and developing technologies in the area of flow through porous media.

Application deadline: Applications will be considered until the positions are filled.
