Awards winners

The National Chapter Committee is delighted to announce the winners of the InterPore chapter awards!

The National Chapter Committee would also like to acknowledge the great accomplishments of the other Chapters. It is gratifying to see all the local activities making the InterPore society flourish. We all look forward to the great ideas that the Chapters will develop in the future together with assessing their report for next year’s competition.

The Benelux and Norway Chapters jointly received this award based on several crucial factors, including the chapters’ well-structured committees, their dedication to fostering collaboration through regular meetings: every two years for the Benelux chapter and annual workshops for the Norway chapter (both drawing significant participation), their active engagement with InterPore, their commitment to enhancing interactions within the community at the national and international levels, and their participation in a network with a regional workshop to be held in fall 2024 (together with France and Germany).

The France Chapter was created in 2014. Its activities since then have been numerous with, in particular the organization of the JEMP, a two- to three-day conference with about 200 participants, the organization of workshops, the active participation of many members in InterPore, the edition of a special issue of Adv. Water Res. The number of members has grown to about 250 and the contact list now counts more than a thousand entries.

The Mexico Chapter was founded in 2014, as one of the first InterPore chapters. Since then, it has had many activities, including a noticeable expansion, as well as regular and active annual meetings. Their effort to prepare a bid for organizing the InterPore annual conference is also very much appreciated.

The China Chapter organized its annual conference with a significant number of participants and established an efficient communication platform. They also put tremendous effort into the organization of InterPore2020, which unfortunately had to be postponed due to the pandemic. They then made additional efforts to organize InterPore2022.

The Brazil Chapter had a very significant increase of its members over the past period. Furthermore, the chapter organized a meeting with international participation and a special session in the 32nd Brazilian Colloquium of Mathematics: Mathematical and Numerical Aspects in Fluid Dynamics. We especially acknowledge the effort placed into the aim of establishing contacts and cooperation with other countries/Chapters.
