InterPore Medal for Porous Media Research

InterPore Medal for Porous Media Research

The InterPore Medal for Porous Media Research (formerly InterPore Award for Excellence in Porous Media Research) is given to scientists with an established career, in recognition of excellent research in general porous media, with emphasis on research conducted over the past 10 years.

We welcome nominations of senior scientists who have an excellent research record that has contributed to the theoretical, experimental and/or modelling advances in understanding of problems involving natural and/or industrial porous media.

This medal will be given to only one individual per year. The award consists of a certificate, a medal with the name of medalist engraved, and a travel grant of €1,000 for participation in the next InterPore Conference.

Nomination packages should include:

  • a nomination letter (maximum length two pages) describing specific contributions of the nominee to porous media research during the last 10 years (not counting the current year). The nomination letter should end with a citation statement; an example: “this nominee has made outstanding contributions to the physics of transport in porous media in several fields, such as non-newtonian fluid flow, drying and imbibition, colloidal transport, mass transfer in wood, and the use of NMR for imaging,”
  • up to three supporting letters (maximum length two pages),
  • copies of 5 best publications (in electronic format) that have appeared in the last 10 years,
  • a two-page CV of the nominee, and a full publication list.

Nomination packages should be submitted to nomination@interpore.org.

Nominee and nominator must be members of InterPore. This is not required of those who write letters of support.

Deadline for submission of complete nomination package: November 15th
