Still considering one of our Conference Courses at InterPore2024?
Multi-Scale Multi-Module Correlative Analysis including image Analysis
Join us on Sunday, 12 May, as Eric Pui-Lam Ho (Thermo Fisher Scientific)
presents a hands-on tutorial titled “Multi-Scale Multi-Module Correlative
Analysis including image Analysis (CT/FIB/Avizo).”
The course will include multi-scale and multi-module correlative analysis for
the data collection from CT and FIB, 3D software visualization and analysis on
the CT and microscopy data, and hands on tutorial for the software analysis.
Join us on Friday, 17 May, as Olaf Andersen (Fraunhofer Institute for
Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM, Branch Lab Dresden,
Germany) leads an “Introduction to powder metallurgically manufactured porous
materials,”
which will give an overview of commercial and developmental porous metals that
are manufactured by powder metallurgical methods. The manufacturing processes as
well as key properties and applications are explained. Examples include
materials for filtration, heat exchange and storage, medical implants as well as
applications in hydrogen production and fuel cells.
Course space is limited. If you are interested in registering for these
courses, you may do so in conjunction with your conference registration. If you

And now…Qingdao!
InterPore2024 will be in Qingdao. Described as a city of “red tiles, green
trees, blue sky, and blue sea.” Qingdao has a lot of things to offer with
respect to science, science history and porous media. This week: Chuozirou

Chuozirou is a distinctive barbecue delicacy from Qingdao. Its uniqueness lies
in the use of a small iron box with a handle, known as “Chuozi,” which resembles
a mini iron pot that can be placed over charcoal fire. This allows the chunks of
meat to sizzle and tumble, exuding an aromatic burst as they heat up.
The preparation of Chuozirou isn’t complicated, yet it emphasizes the selection
and handling of ingredients. Typically, meats and vegetables are cut into strips
or chunks and then grilled directly in the Chuozi, resulting in a dish that
boasts both the charred flavor of barbecue and the rich taste of braised
cooking.
