interpore news

Dear InterPore friends,

Summer vacation is upon many of us. This includes our Editor-in-Chief, Matthijs, as well as many of
you who would otherwise be sending us items to publish. As a result, the newsletter this week is
short and sweet, with a look at another great plenary speaker to InterPore 2022, the Kimberly-Clark
Distinguished Lecturer, and some new faces in the Program Committee.

Happy reading!

Plenary speaker: Prof. Abraham D. Stroock

Abraham
Stroock
from Cornell University will give a plenary talk entitled “The Pulse of
Plants
”.

He will describe his work measuring these dynamics with a microfluidic sensor
that itself borrows design principles from the vascular structure of plants, illustrate the coupling
of the various flows mentioned above with the physiology of plants, and point toward implications
for improved understanding of the biology and increased efficiency in the management of water in
agriculture.

More information on Prof. Stroock’s and other plenary speakers can be found on the InterPore2022
website
