InterPore Journal: Call for Papers Is Now Open

IP_bullet.png

InterPore Journal is a new international, peer-reviewed, and open-access journal which is entirely published and owned by the International Society for Porous Media (InterPore). The mission of this journal is to:

  • Advance our understanding of, and research on, technical and industrial advances in porous media
  • Gain an improved understanding of the processes and phenomena involved
  • Provide a medium in which this information can easily be shared within the international research community.

We are interested in receiving your contributions for the very first issue as well as those that follow!

Contributions linked to a porous media application with a geological, industrial, environmental, or biological nature are encouraged. Submitted research may include, but is not limited to, physical and numerical modelling, imaging techniques and analysis, theory development, big data analysis, characterization, and/or material design.

The following types of articles can be submitted:

  • Original research papers, technical notes, and review articles that present the state-of-the-art on porous media research and applications and offer perspectives for future research and development.
  • Open datasets and source codes relevant to the porous media research, as they can offer a valuable resource to the porous media community.
  • Letters to the Editor, short communications, invited commentaries and papers, and opinion pieces.

Why InterPore Journal?

Since the start of the International Society for Porous Media in 2008, its goal has been to advance and disseminate knowledge for the understanding, description, and modeling of natural and industrial porous media systems. Our members are very diverse and work on many different porous media systems such as soils, aquifers, reservoirs, plants, food, human body, fuel cells, concrete, filters, textiles, membranes, and many man-made objects – however they all deal with modelling, imaging, and characterizing similar processes. As a society, we wish to provide various forums and platforms through which the researchers from these various industrial and natural systems could be made aware of each other’s activities and exchange ideas so that the wheel does not have to be reinvented repeatedly. While our annual meetings and InterPore Academy have been valuable and successful venues for such exchanges, a strong need has persisted for a periodical that would provide a repository of research, ideas, opinions, and advances made in the vastly diverse disciplines and applications that InterPore represents. This motivated InterPore to start a new journal, where all scientists – member or nonmember – can share their findings and questions.
