interpore news

Dear InterPore friends,

Just in case you’re into special numbers: Today’s issue is number 20 in the year 2020. It may not
mean a lot, but if you miss it, it won’t happen again.

Something that does bear some meaning is being awarded with one of the
prestigious InterPore awards
. It is still possible to nominate candidates for this. Please
consider your colleagues and realize that this can be a major boost for their career or a
well-deserved acknowledgement for a life-long contribution to porous media science.

Take care,

Vice-Chair

The previous InterPore Program Committee

After several years of service at the helm of the Program Committee, Hadi Hajibeygi and Rainer Helmig
have stepped down as co-chairs effective September 15, 2020. We commend and thank them for their
dedication and service to the InterPore Community. They have invested significant time and effort
over the years to provide InterPore with scientific, interesting and well organized programs. We
thank them both for their continuous efforts and for their dedication to making InterPore
conferences a great success.

The new InterPore Program Committee

We are pleased to announce that the InterPore Executive Committee has appointed Patrick Jenny (ETH
Zürich) and Sridhar Ranganathan (Kimberly-Clark) as the new Chair and Vice-chair, respectively, of
the Program Committee. Patrick and Sridhar have had an active role in all recent InterPore
conferences and InterPore is fortunate that they have accepted this very important role.

Letter from the French
Chapter

Dear colleagues,

After the shock of the pandemic crisis of COVID-19, we are all mobilized to recover our activities
and restart our research projects.

Due to the uncertain situation in the coming months and probably most of next semester, the
Organizing Committee of the JEMP2020 and the FIC have decided to postpone the conference until the
end of October 2021. Further information will be given when exact dates are decided. As we all enjoy
the convivial spirit of the congress, we will be happy to see you all under better conditions next
year, and we’ll also be eager to rediscover some Alsatian specialties. So, we are looking forward to
seeing all of you next year, at the JEMP2021!

Further information on this event can be found here.

In the meantime, please stay healthy.
