InterPore News featuring EquiPore's Mentorship Program and Conference Grant Program

Sent on: 22-11-2025

Dear InterPore colleagues,

A society is built and maintained together. Two programs are featured in today's Newsletter: EquiPore's Mentorship Program and the Conference Grant Program. Contributions to the programs can be made in two ways: Applying for the grant or for a mentor, and signing up as mentor or donate.  Like communicating vessels, both sides count. And to continue with the analogy, ideally, the fluid in the pipe between the vessels remains at a standstill.

Funny enough, that would mean there is a flow of money or companionship!

Have a nice weekend!

Advances in Imaging Porous Media: Techniques, Software, and Case Studies, led by Maja Rücker (Eindhoven University of Technology), explores the latest developments in imaging porous materials. Advances in 2D, 3D, and 4D techniques—including XCT, MRI, STXM, EMT, and laser scanning microscopy—along with improved software and analytical tools. MS10 welcomes contributions showcasing novel imaging methods, software development, and their application in laboratory experiments or real-world case studies, providing new perspectives on porous media science.

Special Session in Honor of Jun Yao, organized by Oleg Iliev (Fraunhofer ITWM) and Yongfei Yang (China University of Petroleum), celebrates the work of Jun Yao and highlights the critical role of flow physics in subsurface energy projects. Contributions are invited on multiscale, multiphysics challenges in resource development and storage, including oil & gas, geothermal, CCUS, hydrogen, and groundwater management.

Topics include fundamental flow mechanisms, scale bridging and upscaling, AI-driven modeling, and extreme-condition reactive transport. MS20 provides a forum to discuss advances that enhance predictive capabilities and the efficiency and safety of subsurface energy operations.
