Why Interdisciplinarity Matters
Porous media research thrives on collaboration. InterPore2026 brings together geoscientists, engineers, chemists, physicists, and biologists to tackle shared challenges — from sustainable materials to climate resilience. Interdisciplinary exchange is at the heart of InterPore’s mission, fostering innovation across theory, experiment, and application. “That’s why InterPore2026 is designed to spark new connections and ideas across every domain,” says Jaime Gómez-Hernández, InterPore2026 Program Committee Chair. |

Call for Exhibitors & Sponsors
The Exhibitor & Sponsor Prospectus for InterPore2026 is now available! It outlines the wide range of opportunities for companies and organizations to showcase their products, support the conference, and engage with the porous media community. If you know companies or organizations that might be interested in exhibiting or sponsoring, please put us in touch. This is a great way to help connect industry partners with cutting-edge research and enhance the conference experience for all attendees. |

MS06 – Interfacial Phenomena Across Scales
Lead Organizer: Ran Holtzman (IDAEA-CSIC, Spain) This minisymposium focuses on the rich physics and chemistry of fluid-fluid and fluid-solid interfaces in porous materials. While microscopic, these interfaces often control flows at larger scales, impacting applications from filtration and coatings to aquifer transport, hydrocarbon recovery, and carbon storage. |

MS19 – Uncertainty-Aware Decision Support in Porous Media Applications
Lead Organizer: Sarah Perez (Heriot-Watt University, UK) This minisymposium addresses the critical role of uncertainty in porous media modeling and decision-making. From pore-scale imaging to large-scale groundwater, geothermal, and CO₂ storage applications, predictive outcomes are shaped by data limitations, parameter variability, and model assumptions. |

Sightseeing hunt... in Nantes!
The Jardin Extraordinaire (Extraordinary Garden) of Nantes, located at the foot of the Butte Sainte-Anne, is a remarkable place where nature and city blend seamlessly. Nestled within an old granite quarry, the garden benefits from a unique microclimate that allows lush, exotic vegetation to flourish: banana trees, tree ferns, lotus flowers, and bamboo surround a spectacular 25-metre waterfall cascading down the rock face. Definitely a great place for photography and for a different kind of city walk! Photo credit: Stéphane Menoret |
