InterPore News featuring InterPore2025 was a success!

Editorial
Dear InterPore colleagues, InterPore2025 has come to a close! The short courses are wrapping up today, and then it'll be handshakes, hugs, waving goodbye, and heading home full of ideas and inspiration, with new friends around the globe… and in need for a little bit of recuperation from such an intense week! A personal highlight was the speech from Majid, pointing out the only and ultimate route towards being a successful science community, something to live by all around the globe. We will be reflecting more on InterPore2025 in the time ahead, for example, when your evaluation forms have been returned (see item below) and scientific offspring is forthcoming (but usually less obvious tracing back to the InterPore conference). While InterPore2026 (Nantes, France) is still a long way away, we will be in touch regularly through many ways, such as a new Academic Course, chapter meetings, and other conferences and workshops.
All the best, Matthijs de Winter |

Message from InterPore President Vahid Niasar
InterPore President Vahid Niasar was prevented from physically joining InterPore2025 due to visa issues. In a letter to the InterPore community, he writes: “I begin by thanking the Local Organizing Committee, as well as the InterPore Office who did a great job bringing this conference together, given the very difficult circumstances we had this year.” As Vahid was able to follow the talks online, he writes: “I attended many talks and discussions and clearly I could see the quality presented. It was fascinating to listen to, even via online participation,“ followed by future considerations for the community: “The National Chapters should become even more active to bring people together locally, and referring to Tiina Roose’s inspiring talk, we should not be bystanders.” He concludes with: “I hope in the next 2 years, I can be a good leader for the InterPore Community, and going back to the open science, I am also an open person, so please reach out to me with any comments or suggestions and I hope I can help. To finish, I would like thank, once again, everyone who contributed to the success of InterPore2025, and see you at the next conference.” You can view his video message here. |
